Lumber News From world

Dear Horner Customers,

As you are well-aware, the housing industry is experiencing dire economic turmoil due to the crippling short supply and significant cost increases of lumber. Lumber prices have nearly tripled and oriented strand board (OSB) prices are up more than 250% since last spring. These spikes have caused the cost of building an average new single-family home to increase by more than $24,000 since mid-April 2020 according to the National Association of Home Builders standard estimates of lumber used to build the average home.

You can take action by asking your state legislators to call on President Biden and his Administration to urge domestic lumber producers to ramp up production, and to make it a priority for the Administration to work with Canada on a new softwood lumber agreement. The National Association of Home Builders has an easy online tool that will send a letter to your local legislators for you.

Let's work together to create jobs in our industry and lead the economy forward as the nation fights to rebound from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sincerely,

Horner Millwork &Horner Commercial
